NRHA Nordic Championships August 2025

The Nordic Championship is an event designed by the affiliates of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden to bring title competition to the Nordic countries while celebrating team and individual competition. The event is designed to inspire comradery and competition, supporting growth of youth up to professional development. The Nordic Championship will take place every two years and will rotate locations between Denmark and Sweden.

The Nordic Show Committee reserves the right to interpret, modify or amend these conditions. If amendments are made, communication will be made to the participating members. This event is own by the Nordic affiliates of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

  1. The Nordic Championship will offer the following classes:  $1.500USD-added Open, $1.000USD-added Intermediate Open, $500USD- added Limited Open, Jackpot Rookie Professional, $1.500USD- added Non Pro, $1.000USD- added Intermediate Non Pro, $100USD-added Limited Non Pro, Jackpot Youth 13 & Under, Jackpot Youth 14-18, and Jackpot Rookie I.
  2. The show must be judged by a minimum of 2 judges.
  3. There must be a least 3 entries in a championship class, for it to be title given.
  4. Entries for the Nordic Championship will be due July 7, 2025.
  5. Late entries for the Nordic Championship will be due noon the day before the class.
  6. For all fees associated with the event (judge, office, stall, RV, etc.) please see event website.
  7. Each affiliate is responsible to verify all entries from their affiliate are qualified are qualified for the classes they are showing in prior to the draw being posted.
  8. The Nordic Championship classes will be categorized and approved as NRHA Category 11.
  9. The Nordic Show Committee reserves the right to amend these conditions at any time with immediate notice of such changes being made to the participating members.
  10. The host affiliate is solely responsible for organizing the show, and for all economical aspects. The host affiliate can add both national classes and NRHA classes to the show.
  11. The ethical rules of the host affiliate are to be followed.
  12. To be eligible for the championship classes, you must either reside in or be a citizen of a Nordic County.
  1. To qualify to compete in the Nordic Championship 2025, there will be no other requirements other than those listed below:
    • A rider must be a member of their home Nordic country NRHA European Affiliate in the year of 2025 and must also have competed in at least one NRHA-approved European affiliate event (does not have to be in your home country) in the class they wish to compete at the Championships and receive a score (above zero).
    • There will be two qualification periods. The first period will run January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The second qualification period will run January 1, 2025 through May 15, 2025. If show results for events on or prior to May 15, 2025 are not received by NRHA by May 20, 2025, they will not count towards qualification.
    • NRHA will post lists of the European Affiliate Championship qualifiers for both The qualifier periods, and these qualifiers lists will be the official qualifiers lists for the 2025 Nordic Championships. It will be the responsibility of each affiliate to monitor if their members have paid their affiliate membership dues.
    • The membership requirement and qualification will be based strictly off the rider, and any horse may be used to compete in the classes.
  2. Those entries qualified for the Nordic Championships may enter only the Nordic Championship classes in which they have qualified.
  3. Riders qualified in Non Pro classes including Rookie I must have current NRHA Non Pro status to enter.
  4. If a rider competes and qualifies in a class in 2024 and is no longer eligible for that class in 2025, he will be able to compete in that specific Nordic Championship class.
  5. A rider may show only three (3) horses per class at the Nordic Championships.
  6. All other NRHA rules of competition apply.
  1. The nation cup is non official competition.
  2. Each country may have up to two teams compete.
  3. To be eligible for the Nation cup, you must be a citizen of the county, you are representing.
  4. Countries may determine their team qualification. All team competitors must be citizens of the country that they are representing on the team.
  5. On each team there will be three or four riders, one Open rider, one Non Pro rider, one Youth rider (14-18 or 13 & Under) and one Rookie rider.
  6. The lowest score in each team will be dropped. If there are only three members on a team, there will be no dropped score.
  7. Scratches will be considered the dropped score.
  8. Countries are asked to confirm their initial team(s) with member names participating (and up to two reserve names per class) by August 1, 2025.
  9. Final confirmation of teams will be made by noon the day before the first team class competition.
  10. Team awards celebration will follow the final team class competition after the individual class results.
  1. Two slates of Green Reiner 1 will be held during the Nordic Championship in Denmark. 
  2. The leading highpoint scorer in Green 1 from both slates of Green classes will be named the winner of the Green Reiner Cup and will receive a buckle.
  3. The Green Reiner classes will be jackpotted.
